Commitment
"There are only two options regarding commitment; you're either in or you're out. There's no such thing as life in-between." -- Pat Riley
Attitude
The longer you live, the more you will realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance or skill. It will make or break a player, or team.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people or players will act in a certain way. We can control the one thing we have, our attitude. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. You are in charge of you attitudes.
If you choose to come to practice, training, conditioning, with a good attitude and give 100% in EVEY drill, than you will know you have done your best, and if there are players, teammates who have more knowledge and skill, so be it. But never let yourself be beaten by a player of lesser skill because of attitude. In practice and in life, ATTITUDE will be picked over skill.
